At MilitaryMilestones.com, we believe in honoring our soldiers. Our nation is free and prosperous because of the sacrifice of so many brave men and women who have fought for our freedom throughout the years. There have been times in our nation’s history where our soldiers did not receive the respect they deserved, and that makes us truly sad. However, in our current day and age, there seems to be a spirit among the people in this land who truly respect and appreciate the sacrifices that have been made. We are so happy for this and hope that we can help in a small way. That’s why on our Facebook page, you’ll frequently see us say “thank you.” Why? Because we are grateful! So THANK YOU!!!

Looking for a personalized gift for a member of the Marine Corps? We’ve got you covered. Giving a gift to any soldier can be challenging because you want something that represents the level of respect and honor you have for that individual. And when you are talking about the Marines, you are talking about the few and the finest. So, not just any old gift will do.
There are a number of options out there for personalizing a gift for a Marine. Here are a few you can choose from to get personalized or embroidered:
All of these are certainly options, particularly if you budget is $50 or less. Though, we think the best option is not one of the above, but instead a personalized Marine ring. Here’s a look at one of these beautiful rings:
Iwo Jima Ring Emblem
The great thing about these rings, besides the beautifully hand designed craftsmanship is that they make a wonderful personalized gift. There are many, many different side emblem options to choose from for a Marine. Once you choose the side emblems, you get to add custom engraving on both the right and the left side of the ring. Then, you get to choose the wording around the stone, the stone color, the stone style and you even get to write a personal inside message and have it engraved inside the ring. Pretty nice.
These rings start at $159.95 at MillitaryMilestones.com, who also offer a low price guarantee on these rings. There are several different metal types to choose from including, silver, 10k and 14k yellow and white gold.
Why do these rings make such a great gift? Several reasons. First, the craftsmanship is exquisite. The level of detail that goes into these rings is second to none. Second, the longevity of the gift. Often times, it’s easy to drop $25-$100 on a gift that is soon forgotten. When you think about the durability and longevity of a personalized ring (usually a lifetime), you are getting tremendous value out of the gift. Finally, because the gift is worn on the hand, the love and thoughtfulness of this unique gift will be seen my your Marine every single day, every time a quick look at the hand is taken.
There are several gifts out there for Marines, but if you want a personalized gift, we don’t think you can go wrong with one of our custom Marine rings. Here are a few more emblem options for Marines.
Mother’s Day is the one special day of the year where we get to honor the special women in our lives who hold the amazing title of Mom. It’s a day where every son and daughter should thoughtfully and carefully do their best to love and appreciate this woman who has given so much for her children. The role of a mother is a unique and special task that God has given to women, and I am constantly amazed by my wife and how she is growing in her role as a mother to our 1 year old and baby on the way.
For a Military Mom, Mother’s Day can often be bittersweet. So often, these courageous mothers are at home, praying for the safety of their courageous sons and daughters while serving this great nation. For as much as our soldiers serve and sacrifice for this country, their mothers do too. By raising these men and women who grow to be soldiers and defenders of our freedom, these mothers are to be praised, loved and respected.
The realities of the dangers are troops are known no better by anyone but our mothers. Their is a special bond between a mother and her child. There is a protective covering over children that is unique to mothers. Yes, fathers love and care for their children too, but a mother’s love comes in a special way – A mother’s hug. A mother’s embrace. A mother who has kissed ‘owies’ and put on band-aids. A mother who stays up all night and watches the fever break and sits in the emergency room. Mothers have an amazing ability to love, to care, and to protect their children.
For all of the Military Moms out there, we want to say thank you for your love. Thank you for raising children who would fight for this country and what it stands for. Thank you for all of your sacrifices through the years. We understand how difficult it is to be a mother of a soldier, and we just want to say thank you for your sacrifice. We wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Thank you everyone for serving your country, whether fighting for our freedom or supporting our troops! We are truly grateful for your service!
Yesterday, we posted an image on our Facebook page of an Army Father hugging his two daughters. We captioned the image, “Thumbs up for remembering what we fight for.”
When people casually talk about war, they can sometimes marginalize the sacrifices made in fighting for freedom. Sure, people are entitled to their opinions. But it’s important to remember that they are free to have those opinions because they live in a country where somebody before them fought for their freedom. Let’s not forget.
Although, I will be honest, growing up in a free country when war is thousands of miles away, if you are not associated with a loved one in the military, it can be easy to forget why we fight. But take those freedoms away for 1 day, and you’ll know immediately what we fight for. Freedom matters. Freedom to have a family. Freedom to start a business. Freedom to have ideas and thoughts. Freedom to speak your mind. Freedom to plant a garden. Freedom to buy a car. Freedom to play a game of catch with your son.
America is the most amazing country on this earth. She stands for freedom. I fear that this nation may lose site of that and take advantage of the freedoms given to them. More and more, we seem to live in an entitlement state where people don’t appreciate earning what they work for. This is a dangerous place to be in. And although that may the way this nation is heading, we want to say thank you to those who fight for our freedoms. Thank for laying down your life. Thank you for fighting so that we may have freedom in this nation.
At MilitaryMilestones.com, we desire all men and women everywhere to be free. Free from all kinds of slavery and oppression. And we remember why we fight, and we believe in fighting for freedom.
If you’ve ever shopped for a military gift for a loved soldier or veteran, you know that it can be a challenge. Here you have a national hero. You are shopping for someone who you have tremendous respect for, who has served their country, and has been willing to sacrifice their very life. What are you going to get them? A hat? A jacket? Many times, shoppers who are looking for amazing gifts for their military loved one can come up short.
We understand the challenge of trying to express your admiration for this person. That’s why we offer custom military rings, which we believe are amazing military gifts for a number of reasons.
The Ring is Permanent – the great thing about these rings is that they last! How many times have you given a gift only to see it discarded a year or two later. The nice thing about these rings are that they can last a lifetime.
Daily Reminder – Not only are the rings permanent, but they are a daily reminder from someone special to them. All this soldier or veteran has to do is look down at their hand and know that they are loved and supported.
Custom Options – as the ring buyer, you get to choose exactly what you want to say to your loved one on the ring. You get to choose two custom emblems on the left and right side of the ring. You get to choose two custom lines of engraving on each side of the ring. You choose the ring style, metal type, stone color, message on top of the ring, and even inside personal engraving. It’s truly a personalized gift, which always means more.
Our mission at MilitaryMilestones.com is to help honor our soldiers. We believe that these rings are a wonderful way to do that. Just check out a recent testimonial we received from one of our happy customers.
I don’t think you can imagine the happiness you brought to my father when he saw his personalized Army ring from his children! He had been asking for an Army ring for Christmas(it was given as an early gift), but I promise, he had no idea that he was going to get this great of a surprise . Here he is, a retired 60 year old Army vet that sat completely speechless with tears in his eyes as he looked at the ring (I believe this speaks a thousand words in itself). It was such a great moment to share with him! I want to personally thank you for the detail that you put into the personalization and also for giving my father the gift that he will forever cherish. I, and he, couldn’t have asked for anything better! Thank you again!!
Merry Christmas and God Bless!
We think this story is amazing! So many times, our veterans and soldiers go unthanked for the service they did for our country. Family members and friends who have not served either feel embarrassed or inept in their attempts to show appreciation. You will often find that a simple thank you will go a long way, but a gift like one of these personalized rings is an amazing way to show your gratitude that the recipient will remember for the rest of their life.
Ever find yourself in a horrible situation like this? The Army has certainly created some crazy training techniques in the past, but this might top the cake. What gets me rolling every time with this picture is the utter fear in this man’s eyes as he is hoofing it as fast as he possibly can vs. the salivating dog with it’s tongue waving in the wind.
What do you think? Funny? Not? Have a similar story? Leave a comment below.

If you haven’t seen this video yet, I think you will really enjoy it. The magician, Justin Flom, retells an old soldier’s story about a deck of cards, using some neat magic with a deck of cards. Be sure to watch the video all the way through as there is a stirring and touching moment at the end that honors our troops.
Here is a transcript of the video:
Hi, my name is Justin Flom. Thank you for watching, and I’d like to share with you a story. And, um, I certainly can’t take credit for the story. In fact, it dates all the way back to 1778, and I heard it from a recording in the late 50’s. And people are still passing around the story today. So, you may know it, but it means a lot to me.
It starts with a soldier overseas at war in his bunker with a deck of cards spread out on his bed. A sergeant walks in and says, “Soldier, what are you doing?” And he says, “Sir, I was just about to spend some time in prayer with the Lord.” He says, “Actually, it looks like you are about to play cards.” He says, “No sir. If you let me explain, I’ll show you something kind of interesting. You see this deck of cards may seem ordinary to you, but it acts as my Bible.”
“You see, in a deck, the Ace reminds me that there is only one God. And the two, is the two halves in the Bible, the New and the Old Testament. The three – that’s the trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The four, well that’s Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the apostles. The six, that’s the six days in which God made the earth. The seven, is the day that God rested. In the Bible, you even have the ten commandments and my absolute favorite, Jesus, who is the king. In fact, he’s the king of my heart.
Now, at this point the sergeant was surprised and impressed. And he said, “That’s pretty neat.” He goes, “it doesn’t stop there, sir. You see, in a deck of cards, there’s four suits, hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds. That’s the four seasons. In fact, there’s thirteen cards in each suit. There’s thirteen weeks exactly in each quarter. Fifty two cards in the deck. There’s 52 weeks in a year. So, you see sir. My deck of cards is my Bible. It’s my calendar. It’s my almanac. And with a deck of cards spread in front of me, I can see all of the things that I am to be thankful for.”
Now, as a magician, I work with a deck of cards for a living, and it’s a really nice story, it means a lot to me. But I take it a step farther. You see, with a deck of cards spread in front of me, I can remember the things that I am thankful for. One of those things just may be a soldier who is oversees giving his life for my freedom.
I am a forgetful man. There are so many things in my life that have happened both good and bad that I seldom take time to reflect on. That’s why I wanted to take time today to remember that horrible day when we were attacked on our soil. No, it’s not an anniversary. It’s just a time to remember, to never forget.
In today’s fast paced life, it’s easy to forget. With politicians lobbying for political positioning, we often times forget why our brave men and women are overseas fighting for our freedom. We were attacked. Innocent men and women were killed. Wives lost their husbands. Children lost their parents. Brothers lost their sisters. It was tragic, and I don’t want to forget.
Today, I want to honor those who have fallen. Today, I want to honor those who defend our freedoms. It’s easy to hear today that America is not what it used to be, but I believe our best days are yet to come. It’s the brave men and women who have served in the past and serve today that give me great pride in being an American.
To the men and women who have served and are serving this great country, thank you! God bless you and God bless America.

Here is a look inside of the US Army Basic Training in the weapons phase or the Blue Phase. Watch as young soldiers are getting their first experience of weapons training. They are learning how to load an M16 magazine properly. The soldiers will also learn the “Cheek to Knuckle” method, where they place their head at a 45 degree angle and line up their sites to their target.
In Blue Phase, the Privates are learning all of the US Weapons, which include the .50 Caliber machine gun, the M240B machine gun, the M249 light machine gun (LMG), the M19, the AT3 and the M203 grenade launcher.
On the firing range, you can see how the privates are a bit in awe of the fire power of these weapons. You can sense the pride and responsibility they are bearing as soldiers.
Also in the video, the soldiers get to ride in a convoy as if they were in a war time situation. The training is to make these soldiers situationally aware before they ever step foot on a battle ground. The soldiers will also go through urban operations where they simulate missions and learn how to attach a village. In the video, the soldiers had a mission to recover a hostage that was taken over by hostile enemies. They encountered some friendly civilians, but also a lot of insurgence. In the end, a squad is successful in bringing the hostage to safety.
We at MilitaryMilestones.com are so proud of our soldiers. We are glad to show you this video to give you a bit of insight into the training process of our brave men and women. As always, our goal is to help you honor our soldiers. We can help you do that with high quality, custom military ring gifts for your soldier. We are proud to offer a gift selection that can be personalized and worn proudly by our soldiers.

Precious metal jewelry looks great all on its own, but there is no question that gemstones add something unique. Nature has blessed us with so much to choose from with natural gemstones, even if diamonds and rubies are extremely popular. Actually, there is more to buying gemstone jewelry than you realize, and that is why we offer these helpful suggestions.
Whenever you shop for gemstones, the questions of value and authenticity always come into the picture. Fashion jewelry will never be the highest quality available, and that is something we all recognize. Nobody wants to get ripped-off, and that is what you obviously need to take adequate precautions against. Actually, there are multitudes of occasions when jewelry is received as a gift or inheritance, and then people immediately think about how much it is worth. So the simple solution there is to seek an appraisal by someone whom you trust. This really should not be a concern as long as you go with someone established and trusted. If the jewelry piece has high value, then we recommend you be willing to pay a professional for the best type of appraisal. Coral, especially red coral, has been a highly valued gemstone in many parts of the world for many centuries. Red coral was even thought to be much more valuable than the diamond at once point in history. The thing that makes it somewhat unattractive is the fact that it is softer than other precious stones. What is not so unusual about red coral is that it has been assigned certain spiritual qualities such as conferring protective powers. Aside from that, red coral is quite attractive in the various forms of jewelry in which it is found. The Mediterranean Sea is home to the blood coral which is quite valuable and not easy to find. Another type of coral that is not seen so much is white coral, and that is from the waters around Japan.
When choosing gemstone jewelry, there are quite a few factors to consider. The same considerations for jewelry will come into play such as function and use, etc. Of course the best option is to be able to try it on, but obviously that cannot be done on the net. The heavier pieces may not affect you, but something like earrings or a necklace could make you uncomfortable if you have to wear it at work all day. It is well known that there are softer and harder gems. Very many people like to have jewelry for their various outlets such as play or work.
There is a full and rich history associated with gemstones. You can also do the same by taking your time and finding those pieces that speak to you. Shop carefully, especially online because it can be more difficult to know what you are looking at. It is pretty easy to shop safely on the net as there are quite a few sites that are established and trusted.
At dawn on December 18, 2011, the last American soldiers pulled out of Iraq. That’s just 13 days short of the deadline officially set by the U.S. and Iraq government in an accord signed in 2008. The troops exited Iraq across the Kuwait border, shutting the border gates behind them. The final withdrawal follows a ceremony marking the official end to the war held in Baghdad on Thursday, December 15.
It’s impossible for simple statistics to show the true cost of the Iraq War. However, casualty data released by the U.S. Department of Defense begins to give us some picture, at least in terms of military fatalities. Below are tables showing casualty statistics by year and month, as well as a limited timeline of select events relevant to the war. The numbers include casualties from both Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation New Dawn (OND).
