The US Military is delivering 50,000 hand-held radios to Haitian survivors. The DOD expects the radios to arrive later this week. This will help survivors to receive news and important information concerning international relief efforts. The US Forces are working closely with the Haitian government to broadcast public safety messages. The radios are powered by solar energy and hand cranks instead of batteries.
